Don’t let static dissipate your profits... ™
Polyonics 2 mil anitstatic label materials
virtually eliminate electro-static buildup,
offers high temperature and chemical resistance
and the ability to be auto-applied.
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can seriously damage almost any electronic component or device. The damage may occur at the factory and can often go undetected until the product reaches the field. Polyonics’ new 2 mil white, polyimide, anti-static label material, XF-782, is designed to dramatically reduce the charge generated (tribo-electric charge) when the label is removed from the liner that can later discharge and destroy sensitive components during application. After the label has been applied to the PCB or components, XF-782 has a secondary feature that prevents significant charge build up on the label surface which can result in a static discharge event.
Labels made from Polyonics anti-static materials are REACH, RoHS, PFOS, Halogen Free and comply with many other environmental initiatives.
COST SAVINGS:
- For companies that have already implemented a label tracking system, simply switching the label from their current to an antistatic, can increase their production yields, product reliability and ultimately their profits.
Benefits:
- Polyimide labels used as circuit board bar code labels are one of many potential sources of ESD damage. Static charges in excess of 5000 volts can be generated when a label is removed from its release liner even in an ESD-safe environment. TRIBOGARD® label stock peel voltages are less than 100v making this safe to use in a static free work environment per JESD625A (revision of EIA 625) and ANSI/ESD S541
- XF-782’s anti-static surface (<1.0 X1010 Ω) is designed using Polyonics’ unique TRIBOGARD® technology that reduces the ability of static electricity to build up. According to EIA-625, “Requirements for Handling Electrostatic-Discharge Sensitive Devices (ESDS) and EIA-541, “Packaging Material Standards for ESD Sensitive Items” XF-782 has a dissipative surface that naturally allows any charge that may be generated to bleed off safely without damaging highly sensitive electronic devices. This testing in accordance with EOS/ESD S11.11. Electronic Industry Association (EIA) surface resistance classification greater or equal to 1.0 x 104 Ω and less than or equal to 1.0 x 1011 Ω is static dissipative.
- When printed with the appropriate thermal transfer ribbon, XF-782 passes the requirements of MIL-STD-202G, notice 215K and MIL-STD-883E, Notice 4, Method 2015.13.
- UL969 approved with following ribbon combinations: Armor AXR 7+, AXR8, Ricoh B110C, B110CR, Dia Nippon TR4070 (formally Sony 4070), R510, Union Chemicar US300, Japan Pulp and Paper JPP1.
AUTO APPLY:
- XF-782 and all of Polyonics 2 mil products are stiff enough to work well for automatic application by print and apply equipment.
EASE OF USE:
- TRIBOGARD®, a new generation of barcode labels with enhanced antistatic technologies, not only enables you real-time information of WIP tracking, but also provides you with anti-static features to protect boards and their components from ESD events during label application or label life.
PRINTERS/RIBBONS:
- XF-782 can be printed with most industrial thermal transfer printers, such as Cab, Zebra, Intermec, Sato, Printronix, NEC, Datamax, and Brady label printers. Thermal transfer ribbons suggested: Armor AXR 7+, AXR8, Ricoh B110C, B110CR, DIaNippon TR4070 (formally Sony 4070), R510, Union Chemicar US300, Japan Pulp and Paper JPP1 and ITW B324
