2 mil ESD Polyimide Label - XF-782

Don’t let static……
Dissipate your profits ™

Polyonics 2 mil polyimide ESD labels:
Virtually eliminate ESD buildup…..
Offer high temperature resistance….
and Auto Apply

Polyonics’ new ESD polyimide label made of 2 mil white polyimide label material, Xf-782, is designed to meet the extreme challenges of printed circuit board manufacturing, and provides:

Minimize ESD problems: XF- 782 polyimide label material is designed to minimize ESD buildup when the label is peeled from the liner. Typical ESD values are < 25 volts /sq in., although many times the voltage is not measureable.

High temperature resistance: The 2 mil polyimide label resists the high temperatures of PCB manufacturing, including direct contact with wave solder processes.

Auto Apply: 2 mil polyimide labels are stiff enough for automatic application by print and apply equipment. 1 mil polyimide labels, while less expensive, cannot be automatically applied.

Static Dissipative Labels...

The Benefits

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can seriously damage almost any electronic component or device. The damage may occur at the factory and can often go undetected until the product reaches the field.

Polyimide labels used for circuit board labels are one of the many potential sources of ESD damage. Static charges in excess of 5000 volts can be generated when a polyimide label is removed from its release liner even in an otherwise ESD-safe environment, with operators gowned and wearing proper static control wrist and shoe straps. Typical pressure sensitive polyimide labels act as insulators, and may retain this static charge for a long period of time.

Polyonics’ unique TRIBOGARD® technology is designed to dissipate the static charge as quickly as possible. We adapted the resistivity of the polyimide label to the extent that any charge generated, no matter how small, dissipates quickly within a few milliseconds. The greatly reduced amount of static charge generated when these polyimide labels are removed from their release liners (< 25 volts/sq in) makes them safe enough so they won’t damage static sensitive components.

Polyonics, Inc., does not sell or endorse ribbons from specific ribbon companies.
