Protective Overlays for Printed and Flexible Electronics
Clear & Amber Overlaminating Films for Protecting Printed Circuits from Harsh Environments
Polyonics' protective overlays are composites of high temperature films including polyimide and PEN, coated on one side with a durable pressure sensitive adhesive. These overlays are intended to be cold laminated to a printed circuit. The resulting laminate will encapsulate the printed circuit and provide protection from harsh environments.
These overlays are available in various thicknesses including:

Application:
Thin and flexible electronic circuits are comprised of various conductive, semi-conductive and resistive materials that have been deposited (i.e., printed) in patterns to form an electrical circuit. These materials can be vulnerable to degradation or damage during the fabrication process or in final use. Cleaning solvents and abrasion during handling are examples of sources that may cause damage to these sensitive circuits.
To provide protection Polyonics is offering protective overlays that utilize high temperature films with a durable pressure sensitive adhesive. These overlays can be applied with cold lamination and provide superior durability. The polyimide and PEN (polyethylene naphthalate) films are designed for good dimensional stability at high temperatures and good abrasion and chemical resistance.
In addition, Polyonics can provide additional properties to polyimide film such as flame retardants, opacity and static dissipation to these films.
