1 Mil Black Polyimide Now Available for Purchase

Polyonics introduces XF-509, as the newest memeber in itsThermogard product line. The XF-509 is a special 1 mil matte black polyimide film with a high-temperature permanent pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive specifically designed for thermal transfer printing with white resin based ribbons. Other colors may be printed on the XF-509, but each must be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine acceptability.

XF-509 is laminated with a high-temperature permanent pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive designed for industrial environments. Labels produced with XF-509, when printed with the appropriate thermal transfer ribbon, will withstand the chemicals and temperature extremes widely used in the circuit board manufacturing processes, up to 932°F (500°C).

Polyonics' XF-509 is used in situations where reflected light from standard white labels can cause "ghosting" which can hinder finished product performance. XF 509 also offers aesthetic advantages, when the label is used on a dark surface. As with all Thermogard® polyimide label materials, XF 509 retains its high dimensional stability at high temperatures. XF 509 complies with the requirements of RoHS, REACH, and Halogen Free.
