WESTMORELAND, N.H. — June, 2005 — The leader
in polyimide and kapton
label materials for barcodes used in circuit board identification,
Polyonics Inc. announces that it has been selected as the 2005
U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Exporter Champion
Award winner. Polyonics received the award at a
ceremony scheduled for April 27, 2005, in Washington, D.C.
According
to the SBA, Polyonics has been chosen to receive the award based
on the company’s hard work, innovative ideas and dedication
to its community. “We are very honored to receive this recognition”,
said Dr. Jim Williams, Polyonics’ founder and chairman. He
continued, “Our leadership in educating our customers about
lead free polyimide labels and Kapton labels has helped lead
the way to our export success. The immigration of electronics manufacturers
from the USA to countries around the world showed us that they will
need polyimide labels,
and we must have a local presence in each country. If Polyonics
can compete globally, in such a strange market as polyimide labels,
I believe any small business with drive and vision can too.”
National
Small Business Week recognizes outstanding small business
owners, for their personal achievements and contributions to our
nation’s economy. Every year since 1963, the president has
issued a proclamation calling for the celebration of Small Business
Week. The celebration will celebrate an approximate 23 million small
business in America. Small businesses represent more than 99 percent
of all employers, provide 75 percent of the net new jobs and generate
a majority of American innovations.
The award was
presented during the SBA Champion Awards luncheon on April 27, 2005.
Dr. James Williams, chairman of Polyonics, and Mr. Bruce Smith,
president/CEO of Polyonics, attended to accept the award.
