XF581 Data Sheet

Description: Polyonics XF-581 is a polyimide label material coated with a permanent pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive and a high opacity, medium gloss white topcoat specifically designed for thermal transfer printing. (NOTE:Kapton is DuPont’s brandname for its polyimide label film)

·         Bar code labels made from XF 581 polyimide labels demonstrate excellent performance in lead free wave solder environments, which range from 260ºC - 290ºC.

·         Polyonics XF-581 polyimide label material is designed for barcode or alphanumeric identification of printed circuit boards.

·         Labels made from XF 581 1 mil Kapton label sheet COST LESS than their 2 mil counterparts.

·         XF-581 is the ideal Kapton label or polyimide label to withstand mixed circuit board processes, and is recommended for direct contact with molten solder.

·         Kapton labels made from XF 581 exhibit excellent resistance to harsh fluxes, cleaners, and Saponifiers in Wave solder, SMT, or hybrid manufacturing processes.

·         Polyimide labels from XF 581 resist all commonly employed methods of cleaning.

·         MIL-STD-202F method 215J: XF-581 polyimide labels pass when matched with the proper ribbon. The printed polyimide label resists smearing, even when the board and label are directly removed from a reflow or wave solder environment.

·         XF 581 Kapton Labels are NOT RECOMMENDED for use with automatic Print and Apply equipment.
