Polyimide Colors for PCB Process (Printed Circuit Board)

REACH & RoHS Compliant Colored Polyimde Label Materials for Harsh Environment Labeling

Thermogard Lables - We take the heat!

Polyonics offers color polyimide labels that are coated with a permanent pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive and a high opacity, medium gloss topcoat available in 6 tinted colors pink, yellow, orange, blue, green and violet. They are thermal transfer printable and scan with both visible and IR scanners and are available in 1 & 2 mil. Barcode labels made from these colored polyimide materials demonstrate excellent performance in lead-free wave solder environments and have a temperature range between -40° to 550°F (-40°C to 287°C).

Polyonics colored polyimide label materials are designed for barcode or alphanumeric identification of PCB's or related electronic components. All of Polyonics' label materials are compliant with the specifications set forth by REACH, RoHS, PFOS, WEEE and are Halogen free.

They are the ideal labels to withstand mixed circuit board processes, on either the top or bottom side of the board. Additionally, the label materials have excellent resistance to harsh fluxes, cleaning agents, saponifiers and wave solder environments, and resist all commonly used methods of cleaning. X-550 High Density Lables

Application Suggestions

  • Printed circuit boards (PCB) , electronic components; lead free & standard process
  • Products seeing high temperatures for extended periods of time and or harsh chemicals

Benefits

  • China and EU RoHS compliant
  • Color coding for ROHS manufacturing process line differentiation, color coding sub assemblies
  • Price competitive

Color Tinting- is a non-rigorous color definition for the printable coating, but reproducible once approved by you. 2-3 lab samples will be submitted with the approximate shade for your approval followed by a small pilot sample for final signoff. Lead time would 5-10 working days after color acceptance if color pigments are in stock. If not, we'll order the pigments, but additional time may be required.

Color Matching- is the second method and is much more rigorous in that we must match your specific color within tight parameters. Pricing will be negotiated depending on the specification tolerances, and pigment availability/cost (see Munsell color chart). For example, an extremely tight specification might require a preliminary "upcharge" as high as 25% above the standard materials pricing.
