POLYONICS XF-552 THERMAL TRANSFER PRINTABLE YELLOW POLYIMIDE LABEL STOCK

For lead free applications Lead free polyimide and kapton labels, lead free polyimide and kapton label material

Description: Polyonics XF-552 is a yellow polyimide label material with a permanent pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive and a glossy topcoat specifically designed for thermal transfer printing.

Uses: Polyonics XF-552 polyimide label material is designed for barcode or alphanumeric identification of printed circuit boards, or related electronic components. Polyimide labels made from XF 552 can withstand mixed circuit board processes, on either the top or bottom side of the board. It has excellent resistance to harsh fluxes, cleaners, saponifiers, and wave solder environments, and resists all commonly employed methods of cleaning. XF 552 polyimide labels are one of several polyimide label materials available.

XF 552 is one of many polyimide label materials in the THERMOGARD™ high temperature albel product line. For other products go to Polyimide and Kapton Label Products to see other related materials.

When used with the proper ribbon, XF 552 polyimide labels pass MIL-STD-202F method 215J. The
printed polyimide label resists smearing, even when the board and label are directly removed from
a reflow or wave solder environment. For a list of recommended thermal transfer ribbons see
Thermal Transfer Ribbons for Polyimide Labels.

Other colors of polyimide label material are available. To see more details click on Custom Colored Polyimide Labels

The choice of thermal transfer printer can make a real difference as well on the overall polyimide label
performance. Our materials can be used with most industrial thermal transfer printers, such as Zebra,
Intermec, Sato, Printronix, NEC, Datamax, and Brady label printers, for harsh environment bar code
label printing with a wide variety of thermal transfer ribbons.

XF-552 polyimide labels are also suitable for use in ISO clean-room applications, when used with a film liner instead of a paper liner. Contact Polyimide Labels for Clean Rooms for further information.

Customer expectations, supported by our laboratory data clearly show that XF 552 polyimide label material can be stored for at least one year in an environment below 80 degrees F and 60% RH . We are confident that our product will perform well beyond this time frame. However, it remains the responsibility of the user to assess the risk of using such product. We encourage customers to develop functional testing protocols that will qualify a product's fitness for use, in their actual applications.
