Looking back and moving forward with Jim Clemente, President and CEO.

Jim Clementa President/CEO of Polyonics

As we celebrate Polyonics’ 25th Anniversary, it’s an ideal time for reflection, resolve, and reinvention.

I believe three key factors have framed Polyonics’ success over the past 25 years. First, was former CEO Jim Williams’ invention of our durable topcoat for Polyimide label material that withstands high heat and corrosive environments. That paved the way for our leadership in PCB manufacturing and other markets that make up our core business today. Second, was the company’s then insightful decision to follow and support electronics manufacturers as they moved to Asia in the late 1990s. And third, Jim Williams’ and Bruce Smith’s commitment to turn Polyonics into an employee-owned company put our future squarely into the hands of the people who care the most.

Today, Polyonics’ market leadership is strong. However, we live in an unprecedented time where the political, economic, and health challenges of the world put pressure on our growth objectives. But we have the teams in place with the skills and drive to help us achieve our goals. It is times like these where I am thankful for the integrity and high ethical standards of our employees as they create strong loyalty among our business partners and customers.

Into the future

2020 is an apt year to look into the future. I’m personally excited for the next 25 years of Polyonics history as we maintain our core businesses while diversifying into new markets and applications. One example is identification and tracking labels for metals manufacturing—a high heat, harsh environment that suits us perfectly.

With our passionate employees, and their focus on personal chemistry and innovative products, I am confident we will take Polyonics boldly into the future.
